The photo above was taken earlier this year as me, family members, and friends departed Atlantic Beach, North Carolina for a half-day fishing trip. The sun was rising, the fishing poles were ready, and the lines were not tangled up.
In less than a week, 2023 will be the rising new year. What will the next twelve months look like for each of us? Will 2023 bring new opportunities? Will it bring new friendships? How will you grow and develop in the new year? Who will you impact in 2023?
Tangled lines and lives
If we allowed the fishing lines in the photo to become tangled, then we would not catch any fish and our frustrations would skyrocket.
As we finish 2022 and prepare to cross into 2023, are you tangled up in something? Finances? Poor leadership at work? Family situations? Health? Are your frustrations skyrocketing?
It is easy to become immersed in our circumstances and focus solely on ourselves. When this happens, we neglect our loved ones, those around us, and those we meet daily. We become distant, disconnected, and even angry with people.
Untangle the lines
To successfully catch the fish, the lines must be untangled. Likewise, we must untangle the lines in our lives.
Take advantage of the rising new year and cut yourself free from the fishing lines of life that have you knotted up. What action steps will you take to grow and develop?
That is a question all of us should ask ourselves as we close 2022 and enter 2023. Contact me at info@impactusleadership.com and visit my website at www.impactusleadership.com to see how I can help you become untangled in 2023 and develop the potential that lies within you.
Are you cluelessly navigating the haze of career progression?
