The photo above is from a diorama of a World War I German solider cutting barbed wire at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania1. The display is a perfect illustration of how we become tangled up with the circumstances of life.
As we approach Christmas and the end of the year, what has you tangled up? Finances? Poor leadership at work? Family situations? Health? The political environment? What else might you add to this list?
It is easy to become immersed in our circumstances and then focus solely on ourselves. When this happens, we neglect our loved ones, those around us, and those we meet daily. We become distant, disconnected, and even angry with people. Squirming on our backs in the mud, we attempt to cut the wires that tangle us. Some fail at the task while others succeed.
How about you? What has you tangled up? Are you willing to cut yourself free from the restrictive barbed wire that rips and shreds? If the answer is no, then what prevents you from moving forward? If the answer is yes, then what action steps are you going to take to free yourself from the tangled mess of the barbed wire?
These are questions that all of us should ask ourselves as we close 2021 and enter 2022. Please visit my website at www.impactusleadership.com and see how Impactus can help you become untangled in the new year.
